Eligibility / Qualification:

Qualification RequirementDetails
Academic DegreeMaster’s degree (120 ECTS) or equivalent in machine learning, statistics, mathematics, etc.
Grade RequirementMinimum grade B (ECTS grading scale)
Thesis RequirementMaster’s thesis of at least 30 ECTS
Competence in ProbabilityStrong foundation in probability and statistical modelling
Programming SkillsProficiency in Python, PyTorch/JAX, or similar
Communication SkillsFluent in oral and written English
Desired SkillsFamiliarity with Bayesian statistics, stochastic processes, Transformer architectures, diffusion models

Job Description:

The successful candidate will develop novel generative modeling frameworks for discrete sequence data by integrating diffusion-based generative modeling with coalescent theory. The role involves:

  • Designing new algorithms and scalable implementations.
  • Publishing in top-tier machine learning and statistics venues.
  • Collaborating in an interdisciplinary research environment.
