Scholarship Description
The PhD Research Scholar will explore the theme of Psychology and Decision Science: Understanding “freedom to choose.” Research will investigate how people perceive genuine free choice, the trade-offs they make regarding moral values, and how the concern for freedom impacts policy preferences, work motivation, leadership, and consumer behavior.
Scholars will learn sophisticated data analysis skills, R programming, and Open Science best practices while working closely with faculty and the FAIR research centre at NHH. The position allocates 25% of the time to career-promoting work, such as teaching assistance.
Eligibility
To qualify for this PhD programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Academic Background: A five-year Master of Science (MSc) degree in Economics and Business Administration (or a comparable degree in psychology or related social sciences like behavioral economics or political science).
- Grades: An average grade corresponding to a minimum of B (4.0) in the Norwegian grading system.
- Academic Skills Test: GMAT or GRE (Waived if you hold a qualifying master’s degree from a Nordic institution).
- Language Proficiency: TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Academic (Waived for native English speakers, those with a Nordic master’s degree, or those whose master’s degree was taught in English).
