Research Objectives

The project aims to establish structure–function relationships for next-generation multifunctional looping materials. Key objectives include:

  • Material Synthesis: Developing integrated oxygen–carbon carrier materials with precise active-site proximity.
  • Performance Analysis: Assessing the impact of particle architecture on hydrogen production and cyclic stability.
  • Stability Studies: Investigating the role of oxygen mobility in resisting coke formation and improving redox performance.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Candidates should possess a strong background in one of the following disciplines:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Materials Science
  • Chemistry
  • Energy or Environmental Engineering

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
  • Experience in laboratory experimentation, thermal analysis (XRD, BET, TGA), or reactor operation is highly advantageous.
  • Must meet the standard eligibility criteria for entry into a PhD program at Curtin University.
  • The position is open to both International and Domestic applicants.

Internship Opportunity

The selected candidate will have access to a dedicated internship, providing hands-on experience in:

  • Advanced environmental and energy engineering research.
  • Operation of laboratory-scale thermochemical reactor systems.
  • Analytical characterization techniques and scientific data analysis.
