  • Background in architectural and/or environmental acoustics
  • Knowledge of psychoacoustics and statistics is beneficial but not mandatory

Job Description

The PhD candidate will:

  • Conduct a scoping review on the soundscape of learning environments, focusing on methodologies used with children to communicate emotional states as reactions to sensory stimuli.
  • Conduct and analyze experiments to define children’s perceptual dimensions.
  • Develop statistical models to derive prediction tools.
  • Validate the new approach in real-world case studies.

What is Funded

  • The Research Doctorate program spans three years, starting on November 1st, 2024.
  • Annual gross stipend of €16,243, including National Insurance Contributions (INPS).
  • An additional 50% stipend increase for periods spent abroad, up to 12 months.
  • Research funding amounting to 10% of the total scholarship for research activities in Italy and abroad.
