Summary
DTU Compute is offering a fully funded, 3-year PhD scholarship within its Visual Computing section. This project focuses on developing the next generation of AI systems that can engage in visual dialogues—interpreting visual communicative signals and generating visual responses. The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge research at the intersection of computer vision, generative AI, and human–AI interaction to make AI a more natural and inclusive collaborator.

Eligibility
Candidates must possess the following required skills and qualifications:
- A two-year master’s degree (120 ECTS points) or an equivalent academic degree in computer science, informatics, computer engineering, applied mathematics, or a similar field.
- Proven programming experience in Python.
- Proven hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks.
- Excellent written and communication skills in English.
- A high level of motivation and innovation.
- Preferred: Prior experience in computer vision is considered a plus.
Scholarship Description
Throughout the 3-year PhD program, the candidate will be expected to:
- Develop state-of-the-art computer vision and multimodal AI models specifically for visual dialogues.
- Build and curate datasets needed to train and evaluate these multimodal models.
- Publish and present research findings at world-leading venues (such as CVPR, ICCV, and ECCV).
- Spend a few months abroad during the PhD program to foster international collaboration.
- Contribute to teaching duties as a teaching assistant at DTU.
