Eligibility/Qualification
Required Criteria
- Meet admission requirements for NTNU’s Doctoral Programme.
- Relevant Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent, including a major independent project (minimum 30 ECTS) equivalent to a master’s thesis.
- Strong academic background with an average grade from Master’s degree (or equivalent) equal to B or better on NTNU’s grading scale.
- Proficiency in English (written and oral).
- Submission of a project outline (1500 words) detailing theoretical and methodological approach, and proposed research questions.

- Academically relevant background in software engineering or information systems.
- Experience from the software industry.
- Experience with empirical studies and scientific publishing.
- Good oral and written presentation skills in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language.

Scholarship Description
The PhD Candidate will conduct empirical studies in Norwegian software companies to generate knowledge on continuous software development. The position also includes career-promoting work, which may involve smaller related research projects or collaboration with external organizations.
