Eligibility / Qualification
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, Applied Math, or a related field.
- Strong interest in photonic systems and light technology.
- Knowledge in photonics, sensing, laser physics, and nonlinear dynamics is a plus.
- Programming skills (Matlab, Python) are advantageous.
- Proficiency in English (CEFR level C1 or equivalent).
- Ability to travel for conferences or research stays.
Job Description
The PhD candidate will be responsible for:
- Constructing an experimental setup for generating ultrasonic guided waves.
- Exploring strategies for interrogating optical fibers using laser dynamics.
- Benchmarking chosen strategies against established techniques.
- Collaborating with another doctoral researcher to optimize fiber sensor architecture.
- Conducting independent research while adhering to tight deadlines.
