Eligibility/Qualification
- Completed a second-cycle (Master’s level) degree.
- Fulfilled course requirements of at least 240 ECTS credits, with at least 60 credits at the second-cycle level, or equivalent knowledge.
- Proficiency in at least one statically typed programming language.
- Substantial software development experience (e.g., projects with > 10k lines of code).
- Knowledge of hardware and operating system fundamentals, particularly Linux.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Comfortable working in a diverse, inclusive, interdisciplinary, and collaborative environment.
Additional Qualifications (Preferred)
- Experience with HPC environments.
- Programming skills in Rust.
- Experience in analyzing single-cell data, specifically scMetaG data.
- Background in biological sciences.
Job Description
The PhD student will work on developing innovative bioinformatic methods and tools for analyzing high-throughput single-cell metagenomic sequencing data. The role is affiliated with the Department of Clinical Microbiology, SciLifeLab, and the Wallenberg National Program for Data-Driven Life Science (DDLS).
