PhD Scholarship in Palaeoecology and Taphonomy of the Inner Meadow Ediacaran Fossil Site in Conception Bay, Newfoundland
The Inner Meadow Ediacaran locality in Conception Bay presents an exciting opportunity for a PhD candidate to explore the diverse rangeomorphs and new/undescribed taxa. The project, led by Prof. Duncan Mcilroy, involves excavations, site conservation, molding and replica making, conventional photography, morphometrics, and 3D scanning. The focus will be on evidence for inter-species interactions and the taphonomy of the site. Exclusive access to the site and support from the Memorial University and MUN Palaeobiology group enhance the student experience, with opportunities for publication.
