Eligibility/Qualification
To be eligible for this position, candidates must:
- Hold a Master’s (second-cycle) degree in medical sciences, biomedicine, or a similar field.
- Have completed at least 240 credits in higher education, including at least 60 credits at the Master’s level with an independent project worth at least 15 credits, or possess equivalent knowledge.
- Exhibit good collaborative and independent working abilities, alongside strong analytical skills and personal drive.
- Demonstrate excellent proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience in cell biology methods and imaging techniques (in vitro and/or in vivo).
- In-depth knowledge of metabolic/endocrine diseases.
- Background in experimental/translational research related to energy metabolism, particularly hormonal regulation at the cell/tissue level.
- Emphasis on personal qualities such as accuracy, responsibility, communication, and organizational skills.
Job Description
The primary responsibilities of the PhD student will include:
- Engaging in research projects and completing postgraduate courses (30 credits).
- Collecting, analyzing, compiling, and presenting results from blood and tissue samples and clinical examinations.
- Participating in experimental laboratory work and clinical assessments of metabolism and hormones.
- Potential involvement in teaching and departmental duties, limited to 20% of the working time.
