This PhD project focuses on isolating effective bacterial-fungal consortia for specific crop-pathogen systems, assessing their environmental safety, and developing viable encapsulation formulations to control soil-borne fungal diseases sustainably.

Eligibility/Qualification
- MSc in Agricultural or Environmental Sciences, Biology, or a related field
- Experience in molecular biology and laboratory work

- Proficient in English; knowledge of French and/or German is an advantage
Description
The PhD position will involve:
- Designing and conducting greenhouse and field experiments to validate biocontrol activity of isolated consortia.
- Developing tracing methods for inoculated microorganisms using qPCR.
- Characterizing the impact of the consortia on the rhizosphere and root microbiome.
- Presenting research findings at national and international conferences and publishing results in scientific journals.
- Collaborating with the University of Neuchâtel and other academic institutions.
