PhD Student in Topological Photonics: The Quantum and Nanophotonics section at DTU Electro is offering a PhD scholarship focused on the discovery of new topological phenomena in photonics. Eligibility/Qualification

  • A two-year master’s degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent.
  • Background in photonics and condensed-matter physics.
  • Passion for theoretical and computational physics.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Prior experience in photonic crystals, band topology, or symmetry analysis is an advantage.
  • Excellent GPA or a proven track record in relevant research.

Description

The candidate will engage in theoretical and computational work, focusing on:

  • Numerical computation and analysis of photonic properties.
  • Development of models to enhance theoretical understanding.
  • Proposal and evaluation of designs for experimental demonstrations.

In addition, the PhD student will take courses, participate in teaching, conduct external research, and publish findings.
