Eligibility/Qualification
Qualification | Description |

Master’s Degree | A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Geophysics (preferred), Physics, Computer Science or related discipline. |
Background | Experience in Seismology preferred; familiarity with DAS data advantageous but not required. |
Skills | Strong computational and scientific programming skills (Python, Matlab, C, C++, etc.). Good communication skills are essential. |
Commitment | Willingness to participate in field experiments. |
Description
This PhD position focuses on the analysis of seismic properties and their temporal variations in urban areas utilizing ambient seismic noise and DAS technology. The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Analyzing ambient seismic noise data and compiling auxiliary data for correlation studies.
- Interpreting results to identify potential geophysical processes affecting seismic properties.
- Designing and executing DAS field experiments while contributing to the publication of results in peer-reviewed journals.
The successful candidate will work within a dynamic, international research environment and have the opportunity to contribute to significant research addressing urban geohazard assessments and sustainable urban development.
