Job Description:
PhD Studentship: Characterisation of Metastatic Events in Estrogen Receptor Positive Breast Cancer
This research project focuses on estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) breast cancer, which comprises a significant portion of breast cancer cases. The project aims to understand the metastatic events in ER+ breast cancer, particularly the mutational events observed in clinical samples. It involves the use of an intraductal mouse model to mimic ER+ breast cancer metastasis accurately. The project also involves the characterization of amino acid residues on FOXA1 essential for metastasis using a saturation mutagenesis library. The ultimate goal is to provide new insights into the factors contributing to ER+ breast cancer metastasis.
Preferred Skills/Knowledge:
- Prior experience in molecular biology and biochemistry.
- Ideally, some prior genomic experience, although not mandatory.
- Willingness to work with in vivo animal systems, with prior experience in such systems as an advantage.
