About- The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) is a society registered under Act XXI of 1860 and the corresponding State Act viz. the West Bengal State Registration Act 1961, with its headquarters at 2A & 2B, Raja S. C. Mallick Road, Calcutta – 700 032, West Bengal, India. It has a Governing Council with several members elected or nominated and the Registrar as its Non-Member Secretary. The Council has the functions, duties and power as envisaged in the Memorandum and Bye-Laws and per the relevant Act’s provisions.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential Qualifications: Candidates should have a PhD degree in Materials Science with research experience in semiconductor nanocrystals. Candidates who have submitted PhD thesis are also eligible to apply but their final selection and emoluments will be guided by the rules of IACS.
Research Area: Understanding the atomic arrangements at the junction of nanocrystal heterostructures
Job/Position Description-
Applications are invited for one Research Associate-I in the ANRF project (SPR/2023/000455) under the supervisor of Prof. Narayan Pradhan, School of Materials Science, Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science.
The applications will be shortlisted based on academic credential, research area and experience. Shortlisted candidates will be requested to appear for an interview. The exact date, time and mode of interview will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates only.
Duration: two and half years or till the completion of the project. However, appointment will be issued for one year and then extension may be granted based on satisfactory performance.
Emoluments: As per the rules of the institute.
The position is purely temporary, and the candidate will not have any right to claim (explicit or implicit) any permanent post in the Institute. No TA will be admissible for attending the interview.
