Job Description:
Teagasc PhD Walsh Scholarship Opportunity – Assessment and Mitigation of Microplastics (MPs) In the Dairy Foods
The doctoral candidate will:
- Develop efficient and cost-effective technologies for MPs detection in dairy products.
- Assess MPs levels in dairy products, specifically milk and milk powders.
- Identify potential MPs pollution sources in the food supply chain.
- Develop solutions to mitigate/reduce MPs pollution in the dairy industry.
- Be jointly supervised by Prof. Song Miao, Prof. Mark Fenelon (Teagasc Food Research Centre Moorepark), Prof. Liwen Xiao, and Dr. Jingjing Wang (Trinity College Dublin).
Scholarship Details:
- Stipend: €25,000 per annum.
- Fees: Up to €6,000 per annum (or approx. €9,000 per annum for Non-EU students).
- Duration: 4 years.
- Joint research project between Trinity College Dublin and Teagasc Food Research Centre, Moorepark.
