Eligibility/Qualification

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Plant Breeding or a related field.
  • Prior experience in onion breeding is essential.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with disease resistance screening, genomic selection, and wet lab research.
  • Proficiency in scripting with Python or R.

Job Description

The Post-Doctoral Associate will be responsible for:

  • Leading pre-breeding and breeding research to develop onion lines resistant to center rot.
  • Conducting disease screening and assisting collaborators with genomic screening.
  • Participating in bulb quality analysis, marker-assisted selection, and genomic selection activities.
  • Preparing peer-reviewed publications and participating in grant proposal preparation.
  • Supervising student research activities and contributing to various vegetable breeding projects.
