Eligibility/Qualification
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Plant Breeding or a related field.
- Prior experience in onion breeding is essential.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with disease resistance screening, genomic selection, and wet lab research.
- Proficiency in scripting with Python or R.
Job Description
The Post-Doctoral Associate will be responsible for:
- Leading pre-breeding and breeding research to develop onion lines resistant to center rot.
- Conducting disease screening and assisting collaborators with genomic screening.
- Participating in bulb quality analysis, marker-assisted selection, and genomic selection activities.
- Preparing peer-reviewed publications and participating in grant proposal preparation.
- Supervising student research activities and contributing to various vegetable breeding projects.
