The successful candidate will focus on the design, development, and optimization of new catalytic transformations and their applications in modern synthetic organic chemistry.

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Required: Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field, completed by the appointment start date.
  • Required: A strong research background in synthetic organic chemistry.
  • Preferred:
    • Expertise in multistep synthesis, late-stage functionalization, and scale-up.
    • Demonstrated experience in reaction optimization, mechanistic analysis, and spectroscopic/analytical characterization.
    • Hands-on experience with highly air- and moisture-sensitive organic reactions.
    • Prior experience in developing catalytic or asymmetric transformations.
    • A record of peer-reviewed publications and excellent communication skills.

Job Description

The Post-Doctoral Associate will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and conducting multistep syntheses.
  • Developing and optimizing new catalytic reactions.
  • Performing mechanistic studies and characterizing reaction intermediates.
  • Maintaining detailed records and disseminating research findings through publications and presentations.
  • Assisting in the mentoring of graduate and undergraduate researchers.

This position is initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal for up to three years, contingent on performance and funding.
