Location- IIT Gandhinagar

Eligibility/Qualification–

PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics or a related discipline from a recognized institute, with experience in Fluid Dynamics/ Interfacial Science/ Microfluidics/ Soft Matter/ computational methods in fluids (CFD). Candidates who also have experience working on Machine Learning models will be preferred. Candidates who have submitted their thesis may also apply. 

Applicants must have secured a minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent grade) from undergraduate level onwards, and at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in both Class 10 and 12.

The developed frameworks will be systematically validated against canonical fluid mechanics problems and applied to experimental systems such as active droplets and microfluidic platforms. A key objective is to identify scaling laws, regime transitions, and predictive phase maps, and to enable reliable interpolation within explored parameter spaces, along with uncertainty-aware predictions in regimes that are difficult to access experimentally or computationally.  

Requirements: Experience in Interfacial Science/ Microfluidics/ Soft Matter/ computational methods in fluids (CFD). Experience with high-performance computing and machine learning model development. Proficiency in at least one programming language, with experience in Python PyTorch/ JAX/ TensorFlow. Demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals
