Postdoctoral Researcher Position in University

Post-doctoral Fellow in Leukemia: The Tumor Stroma Interactions research group at the Department of Cancer Research in Luxembourg is seeking a highly motivated and talented Post-doctoral Fellow to join their team. The project aims to better understand the drivers of aberrant mRNA translation in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) and characterize these aberrations in the immune cells of the leukemic microenvironment. The successful candidate will work on a FNRS/TELEVIE-funded project, exploring mRNA translation as a therapeutic vulnerability in CLL and its microenvironment. The fellowship is a 2-year fixed-term contract, starting in October 2023.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Biomedical Sciences or Immunology.
  • Prior experience in cancer research is advantageous.
  • Experience in cell culture, biochemistry, molecular biology, imaging, and flow cytometry required.
  • Mouse experimentation techniques would be beneficial.
  • Excellent time management, scientific creativity, writing skills, and ability to work with others.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.

Job Description: The Post-doctoral Fellow will be part of the Tumor Stroma Interactions research group and will work on exploring the role of mRNA translation as a therapeutic vulnerability in CLL and its microenvironment. The project aims to identify the drivers of aberrant mRNA translation and characterize these abnormalities in immune cells within the leukemic microenvironment. The research will be conducted under the co-supervision of Dr. E. Moussay and Dr. J. Paggetti. The successful candidate will use cutting-edge technologies, including genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic analyses, as well as in vitro and in vivo imaging modalities.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • PhD in Biomedical Sciences or Immunology.
  • Prior experience in cancer research (advantageous).
  • Experience in cell culture, biochemistry, molecular biology, imaging, and flow cytometry.
  • Mouse experimentation techniques (advantageous).
  • Excellent time management, scientific creativity, writing skills, and ability to work with others.
