Eligibility/Qualification–

  • Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Remote Sensing, Ecology, Meteorology, or releated fields. 
  • They should have excellent command of scientific writing and English, strong skills in data analysis and programing (e.g. R, Python, Matlab). 
  • A good understanding of tropical forest ecology, microclimate and energy exchange in tropical forests is highly desirable.

The appointee will apply multi-source remote sensing data to understand how forest structure regulates microclimate in different biogeographical regions of the Amazonian forest.  The researcher will conduct field work to obtain data using a variety of state-of-the-art instruments, including multiple sensors onboard an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and in-situ microclimate sensors.  It is expected that the postdoctoral researcher will contribute to establishing a cohesive and productive international scientific collaboration, and publish the results of this research in renowned peer-reviewed journals.  He/She will work on a research area in Remote Sensing of Tropical Forests Microclimate, at the Research Area for Ecology and Biodiversity. 

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
