- Experience with next-generation sequencing and analyzing microbial community datasets
- Proficiency in preparing microbial consortia and molecular biology
- Experience in bacterial genetics and growing plants in controlled conditions
Job Description:
The successful candidate will work on the USDA-funded project, investigating the relative strengths of host, rhizobia, soil, and drought stress as drivers of nodule microbiome composition. Responsibilities include establishing a culture collection of nodule microbiota, using synthetic communities to test hypotheses related to nodule microbial community establishment, and contributing to understanding multipartite plant-microbe interactions.
