Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Physics, Material Science, Physical Chemistry, or a related field.
- Research experience in X-ray and/or electron spectroscopy.
- Expertise in photoemission spectroscopy (XPS), angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), and absorption spectroscopy (XAS) is highly desirable.
- Strong background in solid state physics.
- Knowledge of ultrahigh vacuum techniques.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- Fluency in spoken and written English; knowledge of French is not mandatory.
Job Description: The successful candidate will:
- Conduct research on the TEMPO beamline using XPS and ARPES to study the properties of 2D nanomaterials, specifically Cu-Te films on semiconductor substrates.
- Achieve in situ growth of CuTe by co-evaporation and characterize the system to explore its electronic structure.
- Perform surface diffraction experiments and Raman measurements.
- Provide support to academic and industrial users of the RIANA project, assisting with experiments, data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation.
- Coordinate scientific exchanges and foster collaborations within the RIANA project.
