Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Integrated Photonics Design, Simulation, Fabrication, Characterization, and Packaging
Location: ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences, Spain
Eligibility/Qualification: Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future), preferably in Physics, Photonics, or Engineering. The candidate should have a proven track record in one or more of the following:
- PIC design
- PIC simulation
- PIC fabrication
- PIC characterization
- PIC packaging
A good level of research independence and project management is expected. Experience in integrated quantum photonics adds value to the application.
Job Description: The successful candidates will work on projects related to classical and quantum photonic integrated circuits (PICs). Responsibilities include:
- Design, simulation, fabrication, characterization, and packaging of PICs.
- Developing next-generation PIC-based technologies, ranging from classical photonic processing to quantum communication, sensing, and metrology.
- Working on on-chip quantum key distribution transmitters, entangled pair sources, and single photon sources.
- Contributing to several European projects the group is involved in.
How to Apply: Suitable candidates are requested to submit the following:
- Presentation letter with a declaration of interest
- Curriculum Vitae, including contact details
- Contact e-mail of two potential referees
Applications should be submitted to jobs@icfo.eu. Candidates will be assessed as they apply and the call will remain open until the suitable candidate is identified. Formal enquiries regarding the application can be directed to jobs@icfo.eu, and scientific enquiries can be addressed to Valerio.Pruneri@icfo.eu.
