Research Area

Experimental Study and Computational Solid Mechanics of multifunctional materials (MAGPS, EAPs), focusing on fluid-structure interaction algorithms and electromagnetism effects.

Eligibility/Qualification

Candidates must possess:

  • A Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong background in computational modeling and experimental methods.
  • Previous experience with programming and software integration related to solids and fluid mechanics is highly desirable.

Job Description

The Post Doctoral Research Assistant will:

  • Conduct independent research within the EPSRC-funded project focused on developing computational algorithms for fluid-structure interaction problems.
  • Develop and validate experimental setups for solid-fluid interaction, working closely with multidisciplinary team members.
  • Collaborate with colleagues involved in the computational aspects of magneto-active polymers.
  • Participate in opportunities for short-term knowledge exchange activities with academic and industrial partners, including MIT, TAMU, and Charles III University.
