Post-doctoral Research Associate Position, Université de Strasbourg, France

Postdoc in France

Post-doctoral Research Associate Position: The Université de Strasbourg’s “Laboratoire d’Innovation Moléculaire et Applications” (LIMA – UMR CNRS 7042) invites applications for a post-doctoral position in organic synthesis and enantioselective catalysis. The position is available for 12 months, with potential extension, funded by the Fondation Jean-Marie Lehn’s Innovation call. The research will be conducted within the “Catalyse Organique” (CatOrg) research group, under the supervision of Prof. Xavier Bugaut.

Designation: Post-doctoral Research Associate

Research Area: Chemistry – Organic Chemistry

Location: The position is open at the Université de Strasbourg on Cronenbourg Campus, in the “Laboratoire d’Innovation Moléculaire et Applications” (LIMA – UMR CNRS 7042), within the research group “Catalyse Organique” (CatOrg).

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Education Level: Ph.D. or equivalent
  • Skills/Qualifications: A solid training in organic synthesis is essential. Previous experience in the determination of thermodynamic parameters of association and/or enantioselective catalysis is appreciated. We seek a rigorous, motivated, and enthusiastic candidate with good communication skills and a willingness to work in close interaction with colleagues. An experience abroad (traineeship, PhD, or post-doc) is a plus.

Job Description:

Post-doctoral Research Associate Position in Organic Synthesis and Enantioselective Catalysis

The research project focuses on the preparation and study of new chiral organocatalysts, specifically haloazolium salts acting as halogen bond donors. The post-doctoral research associate will design synthetic routes towards enantioenriched atropisomeric haloazolium salts, evaluate their activities and selectivities in different organocatalyzed reactions, and understand reaction mechanisms using various analytical methods.

How to Apply: Interested candidates should email Prof. Xavier Bugaut at xbugaut@unistra.fr with the subject line “Post-doctoral Application.” Applications should include a CV with a list of publications and communications, a motivation letter, and the contact information of at least two referees.
