Eligibility/Qualification

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree or equivalent in Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related subject.
  • Experience in electrochemistry.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong laboratory and instrumental skills.
  • Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues, particularly gender equality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline.
  • Strong engagement in contributing to battery technology advancements.
  • Expertise in battery electrochemical characterization techniques.
  • Experience in NMR and/or Raman spectroscopy.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Job Description

The postdoc will focus on the advanced physical and electrochemical characterization of biographite-silicon anodes used in lithium-ion batteries. Research includes:

  • Understanding the structure and surface properties of materials in electrolyte contact.
  • Analyzing electrochemical mechanisms and degradation.
  • Investigating the relationship between the manufacturing process and material properties.
  • Utilizing techniques such as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, NMR, electron microscopy (SEM/TEM), in situ mass spectrometry (OLMS), and in situ Confocal Raman.
