Postdoc in Computational Biology: The Department of Molecular Medicine at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for a Postdoctoral position in Computational Biology, to work with Professor Vijay Tiwari in his laboratory. This role focuses on developing computational strategies to understand gene regulation in neurodevelopmental disorders and cancer.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Bio-engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent track record in Bioinformatics with at least one first-author publication (submitted or accepted).
  • Experience with machine learning (e.g., TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in programming (Python, R) is required.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Interest in multidisciplinary and multicultural teamwork.
  • Experience or interest in teaching.

Job Description

  • Develop computational strategies to unravel gene regulatory mechanisms in relation to cellular identity changes in human diseases.
  • Analyze multi-omics datasets including bulk, single-cell, and spatial data.
  • Lead projects focused on gene regulation and disease.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners and support research activities within the group.
  • Engage in teaching, grant applications, and management support.
  • Opportunities for wet lab participation may be available depending on interest.
