Job Description
As a postdoc in the Högberg lab, you will have the freedom to be ambitious and shape your own research direction. Depending on your specific interests, you will develop algorithms, models, and software to address major challenges in molecular programming. You will work within a collaborative, world-class research environment with ample funding (including an ERC Advanced Grant) and access to cutting-edge infrastructure for sequencing, imaging, and computation.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Required: A doctoral degree (PhD) or a foreign degree deemed equivalent. You may apply if your dissertation defense is planned in the near future, but the requirement must be fulfilled by the time of the employment decision.
- Experience: Ideally, you completed your PhD within the last three years (exceptions can be made for special reasons).
- Core Skills: You must think computationally and enjoy building algorithms, simulations, or software to solve scientific problems. You should be comfortable bridging different fields (e.g., biology, physics, mathematics) and eager to learn new disciplines.
- Desirable (but not required):
- Strong programming skills (Python, Julia, C++, R).
- Experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, geometry/graph algorithms, statistical inference, or machine learning.
- Knowledge of error-correcting codes, information theory, or molecular modeling.
