🔍 Research Area & Collaboration

The project focuses on particle cosmology, specifically investigating how the non-standard properties of neutrinos influence cosmological evolution. The position is funded as part of the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize. You will have opportunities for scientific collaboration with the research groups of Profs. Schwarz, Uhlemann, and Bödeker, alongside potential affiliation with the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) TR 211 (“Strong-interaction matter under extreme conditions”).
💼 Job Description & Tasks
- Research (80%): Conduct independent research on the specified particle cosmology topics.
- Dissemination (10%): Publish research findings in scientific journals and present results at international workshops and conferences.
- Teaching (8%): Participate in the teaching activities of the physics department.
- Academic Life (2%): Actively participate in organizing academic activities within the Faculty of Physics.
🎓 Eligibility & Qualification
Required Profile:
- A completed relevant university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Physics.
- Solid foundational knowledge in cosmology, general relativity, particle physics, and astronomy.
- Programming experience, specifically in Python.
- Very good written and spoken English skills, coupled with strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- An independent, self-directed, and organized working style.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Familiarity with modern statistical methods in cosmology.
- Experience with cosmological software packages like CLASS or CAMB.
- Experience in cosmological data analysis and knowledge of cosmological linear perturbation theory.
