Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Doctoral degree or equivalent foreign degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or related area (must be obtained before employment decision)
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Research expertise in metallurgy and materials characterization
  • Preferred: Doctoral degree obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline, experience in computational material design (CMD)

Postdoc in Design of Scrap-Tolerant and Recycling-Friendly Metallic Alloys

As a Postdoc in Design of Scrap-Tolerant and Recycling-Friendly Metallic Alloys at KTH, your responsibilities include:

  • Refining the computational materials design (CMD) framework to develop scrap-tolerant steel alloys
  • Designing novel proof-of-concept steel alloys and evaluating their performance in demanding applications
  • Addressing scientific challenges related to impurity elements in scrap-based materials and enhancing compositional tolerance in alloy recipes
