PostDoc in Research Center Borstel: The Research Center Borstel (RCB) is seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team. This four-year position, with the possibility of extension, is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in respiratory diseases. As part of the DZL Experimental Microbiome Research Laboratory, you will investigate the mechanistic principles of how defined microbes contribute to the development of chronic lung diseases. Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD degree in biology or an equivalent subject
- Proven expertise in animal research (FELASA A&D or equivalent) as well as in molecular and cell biology
- Very good communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently in a team
- Excellent German (at least for one position) and English language and writing skills are required.
Job Description: As a Postdoctoral Researcher at the DZL Experimental Microbiome Research Laboratory, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting animal experiments, including gnotobiotic mice
- Utilizing in vitro/ex vivo models to investigate the role of defined microbes in chronic lung diseases such as asthma and COPD
- Writing applications for animal studies to local authorities
- Presenting research results at internal and external meetings (national and international)
- Writing reports and publications to disseminate research findings
