Postdoc in Vegetable Production: Aarhus University, Denmark, is inviting applications for a 2-year Postdoc position within sustainable production and open-field cropping systems of vegetables. The selected candidate will contribute to innovative research focusing on plant responses to agroecological conditions and will work within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Sustainable production of field-grown vegetables; agroecological conditions; crop physiology; nutrient and carbon balances.

Aarhus University, Agro Food Park 48, 8200 Aarhus N, Denmark

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Plant, Horticultural or Agricultural Science (postdoc experience preferred).
  • Proven publication record in international peer-reviewed journals.
  • Strong research experience in producing field-grown vegetables or agricultural crops.
  • Proficiency in experimental and analytical methods in plant physiology, agronomy, and agroecological research.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
  • Experience in planning and conducting field experimentation is an advantage.
  • Teaching experience is preferred.
  • A valid driving license is an advantage.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Conducting research on sustainable cropping systems for field-grown vegetables.
  • Evaluating the effects of crop production on climate and the environment.
  • Exploring plant nutrition and fertilization practices in field production.
  • Collaborating with industry, growers, and advisory services, along with governmental organizations related to vegetable production.
  • Working within a Science Team focused on plant, food, and sustainability research areas including soil fertility, carbon dynamics, and organic production systems.
