A postdoctoral fellowship is available to work on the Thematic Project “Biosensor technologies and controlled release systems based on microneedles for disease diagnosis and treatment,” funded jointly by FAPESP and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). Eligibility/Qualification
Mandatory Requirements:
- A PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field, obtained within the last 7 years.
- Proven experience in electroanalysis and the development of electrochemical sensors or biosensors.
- Mastery of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), cyclic voltammetry, and pulse/amperometry techniques.
- Knowledge of morphological, structural, surface, and electrochemical characterizations with the ability to interpret results.
- Experimental autonomy, compatible scientific production, and strong scientific communication skills in English.
Desirable Qualifications (Standout Attributes):
- Experience with electrochemical techniques applied to nanostructured materials and thin films.
- Expertise in surface functionalization and immobilization of aptamers, antibodies, or other biomolecules.
- Familiarity with fabricating interdigitated/printed electrodes and microneedle platforms.
- Experience with biological samples, ex vivo skin, or biomimetic models.
Job Description
The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for developing an electrochemical aptasensor integrated with microneedles utilizing Cr/Au interdigitated electrodes for the impedimetric detection of interleukin-6 (IL-6). The daily activities will include performing morphological, structural, and electrochemical characterizations, integrating data, and preparing scientific publications. The project includes international collaboration, offering a stage at Radboud University Medical Center.
