Job Description
The selected post-doctoral fellow will be responsible for developing an electrochemical aptasensor integrated with microneedles, utilizing Cr/Au interdigitated electrodes for the impedimetric detection of interleukin-6 (IL-6). The research will integrate morphological, structural, and electrochemical characterizations.
Additionally, the project includes a planned research period at the Radboud University Medical Center (Netherlands), subject to the approval of a Research Internship Abroad Fellowship (BEPE) by FAPESP.
Eligibility/Qualification
Mandatory Requirements:
- PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field (obtained within the last seven years).
- Proven experience in electroanalysis and the development of electrochemical sensors or biosensors.
- Mastery of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), cyclic voltammetry, and pulse techniques and/or amperometry.
- Strong knowledge of morphological, structural, surface, and electrochemical characterization, with the ability to interpret results.
- Experimental autonomy, compatible scientific production, and good scientific communication skills in English.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with electrochemical techniques applied to nanostructured materials and thin films.
- Experience in characterizing interfaces using electrochemical techniques.
- Skills in surface functionalization and the immobilization of aptamers, antibodies, or other biomolecules.
- Experience in fabricating interdigitated or printed electrodes and microneedle platforms.
- Prior work with biological sample assays, ex vivo skin, or biomimetic models.
- Ability to conduct integrated analysis of morphological, structural, and electrochemical data.
How to Apply
Interested candidates must submit their application in a single PDF file containing:
- Lattes CV or academic Curriculum Vitae.
- A motivation letter (up to two pages) describing your experience related to the project.
- Proof of PhD completion (certificate/diploma).
- The name, institution, and email address of two researchers for references.
Please send the PDF via email to wendel.alves@ufabc.edu.br and include the following in the email subject line: “Candidatura PD FAPESP – IL-6”.
Note: Candidates selected during the curriculum review will be invited for an online interview. The final nomination is subject to FAPESP’s approval.
