Postdoc position (2 years): The Department of Evolutionary and Integrative Ecology at IGB Berlin is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/x) for a 2-year position starting on March 1, 2024. The project focuses on using water and sediment eDNA to study all trophic levels of freshwater ecosystems, with a specific application in investigating the environmental catastrophe in the Oder River of August 2022 (ODER-SO). The project is funded by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) and aims to integrate eDNA methods into long-term research and monitoring.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD or equivalent in biology, ecology, bioinformatics, or similar.

- Experience in ecological data analysis using R.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
Job Description:
Postdoc position (2 years) in eDNA analysis of freshwater plankton communities
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct field sampling and laboratory eDNA analysis of freshwater species and communities.
- Statistically compare multiple methods of long-term research and monitoring, including morphological and molecular approaches.
- Interact with multiple research groups utilizing eDNA methods.
- Publish and communicate scientific results effectively.
