Research Area
The research focuses on the mathematical mechanisms controlling bacterial community dynamics, particularly through the mechanisms of quorum sensing and other cooperative behaviors in bacteria.

Roskilde University, located close to Copenhagen, Denmark.
Eligibility/Qualification
Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent in mathematical biology, applied mathematics, or a closely related area. The ideal candidate should have:
- Solid skills in dynamical system theory and mechanisms-based modeling.
- Familiarity with Bayesian inference methods for parameter estimation.
- Knowledge of stochastic methods in modeling is an advantage.
- Strong interest in biology in conjunction with applied mathematics.
- Proficiency in advanced programming languages (e.g., Python, Julia, Matlab).
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Job Description
The postdoc will engage in research related to the mathematical modeling of bacterial growth, including:
- Developing mechanisms-based models of interacting bacterial systems.
- Analyzing models and estimating system parameters.
- Validating models using data provided by collaborators.
- Teaching and mentoring students in the relevant research fields.
