Postdoc Position in Fluidized-Bed CO₂ Adsorption at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden

Postdoctoral scholarship position in Sweden, Chalmers University

The Division of Energy Technology at Chalmers University of Technology is inviting applications for a Postdoc in Fluidized-Bed CO₂ Adsorption. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in carbon capture and sustainable energy systems through the EU-funded project FlexCSAR.

Position Overview

DesignationPostdoctoral Researcher (Postdoc)
Research AreaFluidized-Bed CO₂ Adsorption / Carbon Capture / Energy Technology
LocationGothenburg, Sweden
DepartmentDivision of Energy Technology (Dept. of Environmental and Energy Sciences)
Employment TypeFull-time temporary position (2 years with possibility of a 1-year extension)
Application DeadlineOctober 7

About the Research Project

The successful candidate will join FlexCSAR, an EU project aimed at developing a flexible, adsorption-based technology for capturing CO₂ from flue gases. Unlike conventional liquid-solvent methods or fixed-bed adsorption systems, FlexCSAR targets a gas-solids fluidized bed system that operates flexibly using low-grade heat combined with vacuum and heat pumps, optimizing operation based on energy pricing and availability.
