CEMEF Postdoctoral Fellowship in France- Apply by 31 October 2020

Postdoc position in Muscle Stem: The Philippos Mourikis Group at the MECPRES University is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join their team to investigate the regeneration potential of skeletal muscle through satellite cells. The project aims to study the interactions with the niche and the transition of quiescent satellite cells to proliferation and back to quiescence during muscle regeneration.

Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher

Research Area: Muscle Stem Cell Research

Location: MECPRES University, France

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Biological Sciences or related field
  • Experience or strong motivation to learn molecular biology, mouse genetics, and imaging
  • Proficient in Crispr/Cas9 gene targeting techniques

Job Description: The postdoctoral researcher will work in the Philippos Mourikis Group to investigate the regeneration potential of skeletal muscle through satellite cells. They will use specialised methods to isolate quiescent and activated cells and investigate quiescence and activation-specific factors in cell culture systems and in vivo, using Crispr/Cas9 gene targeting techniques. The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for conducting experiments, analyzing data, preparing manuscripts, and presenting results at scientific meetings. The position is for a two-year contract.
