Postdoc Position – Soil Biodiversity: The Institute of Plant and Microbial Biology (IPMB) invites applications for a Postdoc Position in the Agroecology and Plant-Microbiome Group. Job Description:
Postdoc Position – Soil Biodiversity, Microbiome Biology, and Ecological Networks
As part of the research project, the selected candidate will:
- Assess the impact of land use intensity on crop microbiomes.
- Conduct microcosm experiments to test the role of microbial diversity and network complexity in buffering crops and grasslands against global change stressors.
- Analyze large European datasets on soil and plant microbiomes.
- Collaborate in a consortium studying the effects of land use on soil biodiversity and its role in environmental stress protection.
Your Profile:
- PhD in microbial ecology, microbiome biology, ecology, or botany.
- Expertise in microbial ecology, fungi, protists, molecular, and microbiological methods.
- Experience in microbial community analysis using high-throughput sequencing, bioinformatics, and statistics (R) in microbial ecology or biodiversity research.
- Achievement-oriented, open-minded personality with good teamwork skills.
- English proficiency (working language is English; knowledge of Swiss German is beneficial but not required).
