Job Description
The successful candidate is expected to:
- Lead independent research on the roles of mosquito immune cells in malaria parasite infections.
- Employ advanced methods in mosquito genetics, flow cytometry, RNAi, and single-cell biology.
- Collaborate within a diverse team of scientists and engage with a growing parasitology community.
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
- Develop related research projects based on personal research interests.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in molecular biology, genetics, entomology, or a closely related biological discipline.
- Strong background in molecular biology with demonstrable research experience and publications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with molecular biology techniques (nucleic acid isolation, gene expression).
- Previous work with mosquitoes or other insect systems focusing on insect physiology and innate immunity.
- Interest in malaria parasite infection systems.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and organizational skills.
