Job Description

As a Postdoctoral Appointee, you will:

  • Develop, build, and test equipment for molten salt separations.
  • Measure thermochemical and thermophysical properties of MSR-related molten salts.
  • Innovate methods for measuring molten salt properties and standardize data collection procedures.
  • Conduct laboratory tests and electrochemical operations with molten salts, working with hazardous materials in gloveboxes.
  • Apply chemical thermodynamic and kinetic theories, developing models of material interactions in molten salt environments.
  • Communicate research findings through status updates, technical reports, and presentations.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Ph.D. completed in the past 5 years or soon-to-be completed in relevant fields.
  • Skills in experimental data acquisition, equipment maintenance, and result evaluation.
  • Knowledge in chemical thermodynamics, kinetics, electrochemistry, and high-temperature processes.
  • Problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
  • Experience with molten salt systems and hazardous materials preferred but not mandatory.
