Postdoctoral Associate – Computational Biology: The Aitken Lab at Yale School of Medicine is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Associate specializing in Computational Cancer Biology. Location

Yale University, Center of Molecular and Cellular Oncology (CMCO), Department of Pathology, Yale School of Medicine. This position enables collaboration with the University of Cambridge, UK.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD or MD-PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of research productivity with first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals (or preprints).
  • Strong programming experience in R, Python, and bash.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
  • Experience in the analysis of large datasets and understanding of statistics.
  • Required ability to analyze DNA-sequencing data; experience with RNA-sequencing or other -omics data is a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.

Job Description

The successful applicant will engage in the following responsibilities:

  1. Design, execute, and interpret computational experiments and analyses.
  2. Supervise and train students and staff members.
  3. Participate in group meetings, journal clubs, and CMCO seminars.
  4. Prepare manuscripts and contribute to grant proposals.
  5. Present work at internal and external scientific meetings.
  6. Participate in lab data organization and housekeeping tasks.
  7. Collaborate with local and international partners.
