Eligibility/Qualification
- Essential Criteria:
- PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (specialization in Fluid Mechanics), Civil Engineering (specialization in Fluid Mechanics) or related field.
- Proven expertise in CFD modelling.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with Ansys CFD, OpenFOAM, or similar CFD codes.
- Proven HPC skills.
- Desirable Criteria:
- Familiarity with contributions to OpenFOAM or Ansys CFD.
- Advanced computer programming skills.
- Experience in machine learning methods.
Job Description
The appointed candidate will engage in innovative research, focusing on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and experimental validation in UAV or sports aerodynamics. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and running simulations, and curating data.
- Providing input for wind tunnel design and testing.
- Developing and expanding research projects.
- Preparing scientific articles and presenting research.
- Mentoring junior members of the research group.
- Optional development of research proposals for Independent Fellowships.
The role offers opportunities to transition into a permanent academic position based on performance. Teaching support within the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences is expected.
