Postdoctoral Associate in Developmental Biology: A postdoctoral research associate position is available with the Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences business unit, specifically within the Department of Craniofacial & Regenerative Biology at King’s College London. This position, under the supervision of Prof. Jeremy Green, is part of a newly-funded BBSRC project focused on “Mechanisms of Ventral Closure.” The project aims to investigate the cellular and molecular events that lead to ventral closure during development, with implications for understanding birth defects. Cutting-edge biophysical techniques, advanced microscopy, and genetically engineered mouse models will be utilized for this research. The labs are well-established and located at the Centre for Craniofacial Regeneration and Biology on the Guy’s Hospital Campus.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in developmental biology or a related field from a reputable university.
- Strong background in developmental or cell biology.
- Experience working with vertebrate animal models and advanced microscopy.
- A good work ethic, productivity, and a collegial record.
- Experience with mouse work, confocal microscopy, live imaging, biomechanics techniques, mouse genetics, and husbandry is desirable.
- Candidates who have submitted their theses and are awaiting the award of their Ph.D. will also be considered.
Job Description: The key responsibilities for this role include:
- Designing and conducting experiments and analyses of normal and manipulated tissues to understand the mechanisms of ventral body wall closure.
- Collaborating with other group members and department colleagues to maximize project progress and maintain professional relations.
- Assisting in the lab management and the supervision of students.
- Recording research activities, generating reports, and preparing materials for publication.
