/Qualification
- Hold a PhD/DPhil or be near completion of a PhD/DPhil in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related discipline.
- Substantial experience in basic molecular biology techniques, particularly recombinant DNA techniques.
- Experience in the expression and purification of recombinant proteins is essential.
- Proficiency in biochemical and biophysical characterization methods.
- Familiarity with mammalian cell culture and associated techniques.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to write for publication and present research proposals and results.
Job Description
The successful candidate will undertake a multidisciplinary approach combining biochemistry, biophysics, cell biology, and structural biology. Responsibilities include:
- Investigating the mechanisms of Wnt pathway activation and termination at the plasma membrane using both in vitro and cell-based approaches.
- Examining the regulation and recruitment of cytoplasmic signal transduction proteins to Wnt receptor complexes.
- Utilizing advanced techniques such as in vitro protein reconstitution, CRISPR approaches, and super-resolution microscopy.
This full-time fixed-term position is funded by the Wellcome Trust for up to 3 years, with a salary range of £41,997 – £46,913 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.
