Eligibility/Qualification
- A PhD in Organic Chemistry (or close to completion) prior to the appointment.
- Expertise in organic synthesis methods and techniques, including:
- Multistep synthesis
- Catalysis
- Methodology
- Mechanistic study
- Experience in asymmetric catalysis is desirable.
- Ability to maintain detailed laboratory records and report on progress regularly.
Job Description
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work under the supervision of Professor Ed Anderson for a period of up to four years. The role involves:
- Researching small ring heterocycles and hydrocarbons.
- Exploring novel methodologies and applications of bicyclic hydrocarbons and propellanes.
- Developing highly functionalised small ring building blocks for medicinal chemistry.
- Investigating asymmetric functionalisation methodologies.
- Collaborating with AbbVie to translate chemistry into industrially relevant contexts.
