Eligibility / Qualification
Applicants must:
- Hold a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Have substantial hands-on experience with:
- Nanoindentation
- Microindentation
- Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
- Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of:
- Materials science fundamentals
- Deformation mechanisms
- Microstructure–property relationships
- Mechanical behavior of materials
- Be capable of independently conducting and leading research projects.
- Have the ability to publish in high-impact scientific journals and mentor graduate students.
- Currently be located in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with additional characterization techniques such as:
- Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD)
- Focused Ion Beam (FIB)
- X-ray Diffraction (XRD)
- Other related advanced characterization methods
Job Description
The selected postdoctoral researcher will:
