Postdoctoral Associate: Nutrient Sorption: The University of Florida’s Soil, Water, & Nutrient Management Laboratory is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to lead research in innovative nutrient sorption technologies for water quality improvements. This role is crucial for evaluating phosphorus and nitrogen removal enhancement in the Taylor Creek Stormwater Treatment Area.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Required: Ph.D. (foreign equivalent acceptable) in Agricultural & Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences/Engineering, Nutrient Management, Water Quality, or related fields.
  • Commitment to the mission of the Land-Grant system and UF core values.
  • Preferred: Understanding of Lake Okeechobee ecosystems; experience with hydrologic modeling and geospatial assessment tools.

Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Associate will:

  • Lead field-based assessments of nutrient sorption technologies.
  • Monitor water quality and weather data.
  • Conduct lab analyses and interpret data.
  • Perform geostatistical assessments and cost evaluations of technologies for nutrient removal.
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Be actively involved in a multi-year project funded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in cooperation with the South Florida Water Management District.
