MIT Postdoctoral Associate Scholarship in Spintronics

Post-Doctoral Fellowship Position at USA, Ozbolat Laboratory at Penn State

Postdoctoral Associate Scholarship: A Postdoctoral Associate position is available in Prof. Deblina Sarkar’s research group at MIT for an experienced candidate in magnetic materials and spintronic devices.

  • Designation: Postdoctoral Associate
  • Research Area: Spintronics
  • Location: MIT, Cambridge, MA

Eligibility/Qualification:

Required:

  • PhD in materials science, electrical/electronics engineering, physics or relevant field
  • Strong background in magnetism, spin transport and spintronic devices
  • Experience in fabrication and characterization of spin-orbit torque switching devices
  • Demonstrated ability to design and build measurement setups independently

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience in magneto-optical measurements
  • Experience in fabrication and characterization of spin-valves
  • Experience with multiferroic, ferroelectric and/or piezoelectric material systems
  • Experience in the use of magnetic cryostats
  • Experience in DFT, Monte Carlo, micromagnetic and/or spin transport simulations
  • Experience in instrument automation using LabVIEW, MATLAB and/or Python
  • Background in solid state physics and electronic devices

Job Description: The Postdoctoral Associate will be responsible for fabricating spin-orbit torque devices using cleanroom facilities and setting up and running experiments for current induced deterministic and probabilistic switching of ferromagnets. They will also need to characterize SOT efficiencies for the material combinations and write research grants.

Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate spin-orbit torque devices using cleanroom facilities
  • Set-up and run experiments for current induced deterministic and probabilistic switching of ferromagnets
  • Characterize SOT efficiencies for the material combinations
  • Write research grants

How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their application on the MIT website.

Last Date for Apply: Rolling applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
